New SPT Research Highlights Vital Work of Toronto’s Nonprofit Community Services

Social Planning Toronto is releasing a new research report, “Building Toronto, Creating Community: The City of Toronto’s Investment in Nonprofit Community Services“, this afternoon at Community Services Day at City Hall. The report documents the essential role that the City of Toronto plays as a partner, contributor and investor in Toronto’s nonprofit community services, and the vital work of the sector in transforming communities across the city.

The report is being released at Community Services Day at Toronto City Hall to a gathering of 150 community and sector leaders and candidates for Toronto City Council. Mayor Rob Ford, on behalf of Toronto City Council, has officially proclaimed October 6, 2014 as Community Services Day in the City of Toronto.

The afternoon event will include a video showcase of the My First Time Toronto project –
